September 11, 2001 The Day America Was Attacked
Never Forget 9/11/01 when the twin towers were attacked in New York City by two hijacked airplanes. In 2001, it was almost impossible for the average honorable citizen to conceive of deliberately taking innocent lives by hijacking airplanes or any other way. As Christians, we had been taught to respect life. On this same day our Pentagon was attacked in Washington, DC. A thrid plane was also hijacked, but "We The People" on the plane took charge and caused the plane to crash in a field in Pennsylvania before it could be used as a weapon to take out another high population target. Those people are heroes who were willing to sacrifice their own lives to save others.
When the first airplane hit, we thought in horror what a tragic shocking accident. When the second plane hit the second tower within a matter of minutes, we then knew it was not an accident. We did not have to be told by our government that we were under attack. We knew.
Today is a reminder more than ever that each of us must remain an honorable, civilized, law abiding citizen working together with fellow citizens to remain as a united country with united goals: freedom, respect, independence and peace. United We Stand - Divided We Fall.
We The People are the eyes, the ears, and the heart of America and we are everywhere. We are there before the government is there. We help each other when the going gets tough. Not because our Government demands it, but because that is the type of people we are: Honorable, fierce, loyal, independent, caring, capable, Christian for the majority of citizens, loving, civilized, hard working and law abiding citizens. We are not perfect but we are striving to be so. We are free, independent people who elect our government officials from among ourselves and we intend to stay that way.
The United States of America is a melting pot. We represent all races and religions and use the best traits of all. There is not one race or religion or nationality that has not been discriminated or abused in our past but that is not the case today. We are striving in the right direction and continue to improve daily.
Everyday is a reminder that if we want to live in a civilized society in freedom, we each must do our part to behave as honorable, civilized, law abiding citizens. Integrity is doing the right thing even when we are alone no one else knows.
Beware of those who preach and do otherwise whether it be a leader, cult or religion. Each and every person is entitled to be treated with respect and not to be owned or mistreated by another. We are all children of God and deserve to be treated with respect regardless of age, sex, health, wealth, education, religious or political affiliations.
Growing up, I have always heard "Beware of who your enemy is because you must become just like them in order to fight then." Today this is just as true as ever.
Thoughts, prayers for all who lost their lives and to those who gave their lives helping others through the tragedy of 9/11/01.
Thought, prayers and thanks to all those who continue to serve for the good of all our citizens.
In God We Trust
